Mobile Enhanced Language Learning and Teaching Teaching Scenarios

Teaching Scenarios using Apps and Mobile Devices

These teaching scenarios were created by Master’s students at the CAU (at Kiel University) taking part in seminars on Mobile Enhanced Language Learning and Teaching (MELLT) offered in the module "Recent Developments in English Language Teaching". The seminars were conducted and supervised by Prof. Dr. Susanne Heinz. The list is continuously updated with selected examples of teaching ideas and material applicable for the modern EFL classroom.

The teaching scenarios are primarily designed for students of the "Sekundarstufe I" and offer digitally enhanced language learning activities for the modern English classroom. While embedding either a particular mobile tool, website or application, each scenario focuses on teaching a particular language learning competence or literacy based on the German curricula (KMK Standards (2003/2012) as well as the Fachanforderungen in Schleswig-Holstein (2014).

We hope these scenarios offer valuable insight on teaching with digital tools in your English classroom. Our aim was to design teaching scenarios that focus on using digital tools and foster important language learning skills at the same time.
