Academic Writing: Weekly Peer-Based Office Hour

Individual writing consultations are offered as a drop-in office hour open to all students currently working on a writing project. Whether you have first notes, a draft, an outline, or simply don’t know where to start, you’re welcome to come see us. Writers are offered a peer’s perspective, constructive feedback, advice on how to overcome writing-related obstacles, and support with any general questions related to the research and writing process (e.g. databases; time management; dealing with procrastination).

When and where?

The writing consultation takes place on Wednesdays 2 – 3 pm at LS10, Room 212 (English Department).

Who can come?

The consultation is open to all students working on a project written in English, regardless of whether you are at the beginning of your studies, an advanced student, or from another department.

How do I register?

The consultation takes place as a drop-in office hour; there is no need for registration. If you can’t make the office hour, please drop us a line to make an appointment.
Just pop in or make an appointment! We are happy to help!
If you have any questions, contact us at or just come by next Wednesday!

Who are we?

We are Marit, Saskia and Marie, three MA Ed. students each at different stages of our studies. Therefore, we know what questions can arise while working on a paper, and are happy to offer a peer's perspective on your writing.

Please note that advice on content and copy-editing cannot be provided.
