Curriculum Vitae (short version)

Anna Margaretha (Annegreth) Horatschek was Full Professor (tenured) and Head of the English Department at the Christian-Albrechts-University Kiel (CAU), Germany, where she held the chair for English Literature from Shakespeare to the Present from 2000 to 2018.

She is member of the Akademie der Wissenschaften in Hamburg/German Academy of the Sciences and Humanities in Hamburg since 2011, and has been elected Vice Presiden of the Academy in 2016. She obtained her academic degrees from the University of California, Berkeley, USA (B.A. 1978), from the German Universities at Freiburg (PhD. 1987) and Mannheim (Habilitation 1995), and taught for one year as a Visiting Professor in Washington D.C., USA (1998). She is married and has a son.
